The Summer in 7 Weeks
Our unique seven-week summer semester offers students from around the world the opportunity to take university courses from throughout the American Liberal Arts curriculum. Photography to Psychology, Literature to Economics, Business to Gender Studies: all courses are taught in English by an international university faculty in the heart of Paris. The credits earned in these courses are fully transferrable to students’ home institutions.

Immersion
Our full-time, three-week French Immersion courses (two sessions, each carrying five credits) provide students with an extraordinary opportunity to begin, improve, or perfect their French through intensive classroom work, cultural outings, and tours of Paris, all the while living either in dormitories, apartments, or with French families.

Summer Institute
The inaugural program of The American University of Paris Summer Institutes presents three innovative, intensive opportunities for motivated students. Three different programs – Writing, Film, and Global Media – allow students deeply to experience Paris through its arts and media and to earn four credits in three weeks of study with professors, artists, writers, and media professionals from throughout the world.
Classes meet four days per week for approximately three hours – allowing three-day weekends for travel and tourism – accompanied by three evening presentations by writers, film makers, artists, and media professionals each week, in the university’s Grand Salon. Attended by all Institute students and staff and followed, naturally, by the chance to interact informally over drinks, the Institute evening lectures give the full community of students, writers, professionals, and scholars the opportunity to come together for debate, discussion, and professional networking.
