The AUP e-mail directory contains a large number of predefined groups. Groups have a single e-mail address, and any messages you send to that address will be delivered to all the members of the group. There are e-mail groups for all kinds of communities within the University, including departments, courses, advisees, majors and minors.
Types of groups
The tables below list the most important types of groups. Please note that to limit mass mailing, certain groups are restricted; only specific accounts can send e-mail to them. If you would like to send an e-mail to all current students, please contact
Student Affairs. If you would like to send an e-mail to all alumni, please contact the
Alumni Coordinator NB: The groups below are shown without their
@aup.edu suffix, which you would need to add to send e-mail to them. However, the most reliable way to write to these groups is indicated in the "
Sending e-mail to groups" section below.

We maintain "academic" student e-mail groups (courses, advisees, etc.) for the current semester and one previous semester. These groups are
created and updated automatically based on information from the AUP student information system, AMIS. - Messages sent to addresses such as "ba480" or "ah_majors" will be delivered to the appropriate recipients for the current semester. - Groups from the previous semester will be prefixed with the semester name. For example, in Fall 2008, groups from the previous semester will be prefixed with "summer08" (e.g. "summer08_en120a" or "summer08_parttime_students").
