Only AUP community members can connect to our regular Wifi Networks (AUP for personal equipment and AUP-LOCAL for University equipment). When the university organizes an event with guests outside the university wanted to have an Internet access, ITS can set up a special Wifi network for this purpose.
The AUP-CONFERENCE Wifi Network
- Who can request the setup of this Wifi Network?
Any AUP Community Member can request it for any officially organized venue of the University.
- How can I request the setup of this Wifi Network?
Simply contact our
Helpdesk at least 2 days before the event with the following information:
- Name of the requester
- Name of the event
- Start and end dates of the event
Then, the Helpdesk will communicate you a login and password specially set up for this event. You will need to give them to the venue attendees to hook up to the network.
Connecting to the AUP-CONFERENCE Wifi Network
When the AUP-CONFERENCE Wifi Network is available, any Wifi compatible device can connect to it. Once, connected, you have to open a web browser and try to go to any website. You will then be redirected to a login page when you're invited to enter the login and password the Helpdesk gave you. Once these credentials properly entered, you are redirected to the website you requested first and your Internet connection is operational.
