Connect to the AUP wireless (wifi) network: Windows Vista

Requirements
- Up-to-date anti-virus software installed (you can use AUP's licensed McAfee Anti-Virus)
- A WPA-Enterprise compatible 802.11b, 802.11g or 802.11b/g Wi-Fi network card
Configuration
- On the Start Menu, select Connect to.
- You will see a window listing the available wireless networks in range as shown below. Click on Set up a connection or network.

- Another window will appear as shown below. Click on Manually connect to a wireless network then click Next.

- In the Choose a wireless adapter window, select Wireless Network Connection and click the Next button.

- Enter the following information:
Network Name: AUP
Security Type: WPA-Enterprise
Encryption type: TKIP
Leave the Security Key/Passphrase box blank.
Check the box to the left of Start this connection automatically.
Leave the box to the left of "Connect even if the network is not broadcasting" unchecked and click the Next button.
- In the Manually connect to a wireless network window, click on Change Connection Settings.

- In the "AUP Wireless Wireless Network properties window," select the Connection tab at the top. Check the box to the left of Connect automatically when this network is in range and Connect to a more preferred network if available.
- Click on the Security tab and configure the following settings:
Security type: WPA-Enterprise
Encryption type: TKIP
Check the box to the left of Cache user information for subsequent connections to this network.
Under "Choose a network authentication method," select Protected EAP (PEAP) then click the Settings button.
- In the "Protected EAP Properties" window, uncheck Validate server certificate setting.
Under "Select Authentication Method," select Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2). Check the box to the left of Enable Fast Reconnect and make sure the other two checkboxes are unchecked.

- Click on the Configure... button. Uncheck the box to the left of "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any)."

- Click OK at the bottom of this and the previous window to save the settings
- A popup will appear on your system tray, stating "Additional log on information is required to connect to this network." Click on this popup.

- A dialogue box will appear as shown below. Enter your AUP NetID (e.g. a12345) and password and enter AUP in the "Logon domain" field. Click OK.

- You should now be connected to the AUP wireless network.
