Alumni Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement

On behalf of the students, faculty, and staff of The American University of Paris, we are grateful for your volunteer service. Please submit your information below and confirm your agreement to the following terms.

AUP Privacy Terms:

AUP Development and Alumni Relations considers the records it maintains on alumni, donors, parents, and friends of the University to be highly confidential. Some information maintained by Development and Alumni Relations may also be subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) or other protections. As a result, any infraction of this policy may result in investigative measures to determine the source of the violation and solution to resolve the matter. 

Please note: 

  1. All constituent information is confidential and is to be used only for the legitimate business and maintenance of the stated mission of The American University of Paris Development and Alumni Relations. 
  2. Volunteers may NOT seek personal benefit or knowingly permit others to benefit personally from constituent information. 
  3. Volunteers may NOT share AUP Development and Alumni Relations information or materials with anyone outside the University without prior approval. 
  4. Volunteers may only access constituent information using the most secure and private method available and accept full responsibility for ensuring its security.  
  5. Volunteers may NOT download constituent information that is shared with you or that you are granted access to.  
  6. Volunteers may only contact constituents for which they have express authorization from AUP Development and Alumni Relations staff, and only by means of an AUP email address.  
  7. Volunteers may NOT maintain a contact database separately from what you are provided by AUP Development and Alumni Relations (i.e., locally stored lists of member emails, addresses, etc.) 
  8. Designated volunteer AUP email accounts are to be used only to carry out the stated mission of the AUP Development and Alumni Relations.

If you are unsure whether your actions will violate any of the above terms please contact Development and Alumni Relations staff for assistance PRIOR to action or communication. 

Volunteer Information
Any behavior deemed inconsistent with the goals and objectives of AUP Development and Alumni Relations or the University, or that violates any applicable University policy, may result in termination of the volunteer role or removal from AUP alumni programs indefinitely. I consent to the sharing of my contact information (name, email address, and/or phone number) with AUP constituents. This information may be used to facilitate communication about events I organize in my volunteer role and to support the promotion of local AUP community activities and initiatives where I serve as a volunteer leader (such as on a webpage about the leadership of a local chapter, about an event I may organize, or in an email message about an event I may organize).
