First-year Homestay Program
In order to help ease transition to life in Paris for your first year of study, AUP requires new undergraduate students and visiting students to arrange housing either in our AUP Student Housing, or to request one of our limited homestay options.
The Housing Office has personally chosen homestay families to give you an authentic glimpse into life as a Parisian. Our homestay offering is selective, and most of our hosts live within a 30 minute commute to campus via public transport. Some are families with young children, others are single retirees. Some work busy schedules while others may spend most of their days at home. Some of our hosts have two rooms that they rent out to students, and in some cases you will live in the same apartment with another AUP student.
Living in a homestay is a very different experience from sharing an apartment with a handful of your fellow students. Students should not expect to have overnight guests in a homestay, and should be mindful of their host’s quiet hours and home rules (although there are no curfews.) The benefits of a homestay include having a live-in expert on everything Parisian, as well as someone with whom to practice your French.
Cost of a first-year homestay: €850 per month, plus a refundable €850 security deposit
Cost includes: a single furnished room in an apartment, utilities, internet connection, daily kitchen access, washing machine access once a week and four meals per month provided by your host.
Note that requests will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis and spaces are limited.
Once you have filled out this form, a charge of €850 will be added to your student account to cover a one-month security deposit. When we receive your payment, your housing checklist item will go green and you'll be able to proceed with registration.
