Assessment at AUP, very briefly stated, consists of the collection, analysis, and interpretation of evidence in support of the achievement of both academic learning goals and administrative objectives. Continuous improvement is achieved through a virtuous cycle of assessment, planning, and implementation. Implemented plans, driven by prior assessment, are assessed in their turn and the virtuous cycle is thus maintained.

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS at AUP is characterized by:
  • its structure, defined by the University mission, unit objective, and curricular program learning outcomes, and their synergistic alignment,
  • and its process, defined by the roles and responsibilities of key task leaders, the reporting calendar and templates, and regularly scheduled surveys.
